Cooking the whole world, five dishes at a time
A free recipe collection built around one idea: every country gets five signature dishes, explained clearly enough that you can cook them tonight.
Why this site exists
Most recipe sites go deep on a few cuisines and skip the rest. We wanted something different: a place where you can pick any country on the map and find a short, honest list of the dishes that define its kitchen.
The name says it: off the beaten grid. Less noise, fewer pop-ups, more actual cooking. We are adding countries steadily, so the map fills up a little more every week.
How a recipe gets here
Pick the dishes
For each country we choose five dishes that people there actually cook and love, not just the ones tourists order.
Write the recipe
We write out the ingredients and steps clearly, so every recipe is easy to follow and cook.
A person checks it
Before anything goes live, a person reviews the quantities, times and method, and adds a photo and practical tips.
Fix it when you tell us
Spotted a mistake or have a family version? Tell us and we update the recipe.
